What the Readiness Self-Assessment does

Cyber insurance used to be a form and a checkbox. Now it is a real review, and renewals get denied or repriced when a business cannot show the controls underwriters expect. Worse, a policy can be in force and a claim still denied if a questionnaire answer turns out not to match reality. The fix is to know exactly where you stand before the insurer asks.

This workbook walks you through the controls underwriters care about, lets you mark each one honestly, and scores your readiness control by control. Then it tells you which gaps to close first, so you can go into renewal prepared instead of hoping.

Check what insurers actually require

MFA everywhere, EDR or MDR, immutable and tested backups, email security, awareness training, an incident response plan, privileged access and patching, the controls on real questionnaires.

Get a clear score

Mark each control yes, partial or no, and the sheet scores it pass, at-risk or fail, with an overall readiness picture so you know where you stand before the insurer does.

Know what to fix first

A prioritized output shows which gaps put your renewal most at risk, so you spend your budget on the controls that move the needle instead of guessing.

Answer the questionnaire honestly

Knowing the true state of each control helps you fill out the insurer's questionnaire accurately, so a claim does not get denied later for an answer that was not quite right.

What is inside the workbook

  • A yes, partial or no checklist mapped to underwriter demands: MFA everywhere, EDR or MDR, immutable and tested backups, email security, security awareness training, an incident response plan, privileged access, and patching
  • Automatic scoring of each control as pass, at-risk or fail, plus an overall readiness score
  • A “what to fix first” priority output ranked by renewal risk
  • A note mapping each control to a People+ pillar so you can see who owns it
  • A short instructions tab

An honest assessment protects your claim

The point is not to look good on paper. It is to know the real state of your controls, so the answers on your insurer's questionnaire are accurate and a future claim holds up. If you want help closing a gap, we are glad to talk.
